Keep Georgia Beautiful Awards ProgramThe Awards Program honors those whose ongoing efforts in community improvement, waste reduction, and/or litter prevention exemplify leadership in protecting Georgia’s environment. The KGB mission is to build and support community environmental activities and behaviors resulting in a more beautiful Georgia. The Awards Program is based on the belief that positive reinforcement of hardworking and deserving individuals advances KGB’s mission and is a key way to create sustainable communities. Register Here for the 2009 Keep Georgia Beautiful Awards Luncheon Why Should You Compete?Let Keep Georgia Beautiful provide recognition for you, your organization, and your volunteers. Do you need to heighten awareness of your program with a city council, board of directors, students or your boss? What better way to attract new funding, business and civic partners or volunteers than to have an award-winning program? If you win first place, you will receive public relations support from our communications staff. We will produce a press release and offer advice on how to notify the media in your area. The first place winners will be recognized at Keep Georgia Beautiful Annual Awards Event (more event details to come). Certificates and press releases are also available for second place, and Distinguished Winners. The following groups are eligible to apply:
Eligible groups may apply provided they have completed an initiative in one of the following categories:
*You may enter different programs under different categories, but you may not enter the same program under more than one category. Videos are not accepted. Keep Georgia Beautiful also offers 6 additional awards for individuals. The Carolyn Crayton Award and the Steve Reynolds Award presented to an exceptional female and male volunteer respectively. The Barbara Mason Award recognizes an outstanding KAB Affiliate Executive Director. Public Works Employee of the Year Award Code Enforcement Officer of the Year Student of the Year Award includes a $1,000 cash award. Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation Grants ProgramApplications due October 7, 2009. Grant opportunities are only open to KAB affiliates in Georgia considered in good standing. A completed 2009 KAB Annual Report is a requirement to prequalify for this grant. |
