Litter. It Costs You.

The State of Georgia launched the Litter. It Costs You. campaign in August 2006. An integrated and comprehensive approach to stopping litter, the campaign encompasses education, eradication and enforcement. The campaign leverages the efforts of state agencies, city and county governments, and volunteer organizations to engage the public and effect change. Resources include an interactive and comprehensive website, an online toolkit and an education component to reach children. Challenge programs have also been created for adults and youth. For more information, please visit litteritcostsyou.org.

Partnerships
Georgia Urban Forest Council
Keep Georgia Beautiful is excited to be working with the Georgia Urban Forest Council. The GUFC is a coalition of government and nonprofit groups dedicated to protecting and improving Georgia's Urban Forests. The urban forest includes all trees, vegetation, watersheds and wildlife in our community. Tree-lined roadways, open green spaces, undeveloped forests, parks and private and commercial lands are all part of the urban forest. To find out more about urban forestry, the benefits of trees, and how you can help protect the urban forest visit the Forest Council's website, www.GUFC.org.

Earth's 911
The Department of Community Affairs has partnered with Earth's 911 to post information about Keep Georgia Beautiful's activities on a unique website www.1800cleanup.org and on an environmental phone directory 1-800-CLEANUP. Information on the phone line is available in English and Spanish. Earth's 911 also has lots of information about other environmental issues in Georgia including local contact information, drop off recycling sites, and beach water quality. The website is searchable by zip code so you are always sure to get the right information for your community.

Environmental Education Alliance
Keep Georgia Beautiful has partnered with the Environmental Education Alliance to create a website focused on Environmental Education in Georgia. The website, www.EEinGEORGIA.org, was funded by a federal grant and is now available.
