To locate a drop off site or get a contact number for your local coordinator:

Starting in December, check your local paper or visit Earth's 911, to locate the drop off point nearest to you and note the hours of operation. You will be prompted to enter your zip code. Then follow the link to Local Events and Programs and click on the Bring One for the Chipper link. You can also call 1-800-CLEANUP and follow the prompts. Information on the telephone line is also available in Spanish.

On January 5, 2008, remove all of the decorations from your Christmas tree (ornaments, tinsel etc.) and take your tree to the drop off site. Your tree will be chipped into mulch or used as wildlife habitat. Either way, you'll help keep your tree out of the landfill and put it to good use. You will also receive a free seedling for as long as supplies last.

To find out how to volunteer to help collect trees, contact your local KAB Affiliate or follow the instructions above and contact the person listed as your local Christmas tree recycling coordinator.
